Frequently Asked Questions
Who else will be there?
Around 12 participants — all licensed mental health or allied health professionals — plus 3 facilitators.
Is there anything I should do to prepare?
No special preparations required. Entering the day with a clear and calm mindset is a plus. Allow time for integration that evening or the next day.
Do I need to bring food?
No. Food, snacks, and drinks are provided throughout the day. Let us know in advance if you have dietary requirements.
What should I eat beforehand?
A light meal before 8:30 AM is ideal. Avoid heavy, rich, or fried foods the evening before or morning of — these can contribute to nausea.
Do I have to take a dose — or a full dose?
No. Dosing is entirely self-directed. Starting low and going slowly is encouraged. Not dosing at all is always an option.
What are the unusual or adverse effects?
We have published a detailed guide: Harm Reduction Guide for Low-5 Pens
What is the policy on physical touch?
Touch is not part of this experience. If supportive contact is ever offered, it is only with explicit verbal consent.
I am sensitive to sound. What is the music like?
Gentle music is used during parts of the day. Noise-cancelling headphones are worth bringing. We also have conventional earplugs available.
Can I drive afterwards?
Most people feel fairly normal after Low-5, but you are still in an altered state of consciousness — driving is not advised.
What happens after the lab?
Every participant has a scheduled 1:1 follow-up call within a few days. Facilitators are also available if anything comes up sooner.
